Furniture
The furniture and upholstery industry is the major user of PU foams. Classic and Comfort foams are mainly applied for upholsteries such as: armchairs, beds, sofas, upholstered chairs, mattresses, garden furniture pillows.
Different foam types are recommended for different upholstery surfaces (sitting, laying, back, armrest, ornamental upholstery).
For seat and lying surfaces foams with a higher load capacity are recommended (above 30 kg/m3).
For furniture in a higher comfort grade the installation of very elastic or high resilient foams (R and RF types) are recommended.
For communal buildings (e.g. hotels, hospitals etc.) flame retardant (NF and RF type) foams are recommended.
For garden furniture low density foams that have a shorter lifetime are sufficient.
For underlay and support the so-called rebounded (PO) foams are recommended.
